Invisalign in Marlton, NJ

SureSmile vs. Invisalign

There are several differences between Sure Smile and Invisalign. Invisalign uses thicker plastic made of SmartTrack™ material. SureSmile uses a thinner plastic for aligners. While Invisalign material is more durable, it is more noticeable than SureSmile aligner material.

Patients who undergo Invisalign treatment can receive SmartForce attachments that provide additional pressure to single teeth. SureSmile has more torque because of fewer attachments, and not all patients who choose Invisalign will require attachments. We will work with you to determine which orthodontic treatment fits your cosmetic goals, budget, and oral health needs.

Clear Aligner Treatment

Before Invisalign or SureSmile treatment, we take digital X-rays to determine the patient's orthodontic needs. Then, we take dental impressions to send to a dental lab. Technicians create a series of aligners out of plastic material that can vary in thickness depending on the treatment. These aligners may use attachments depending on each patient's treatment plan. Once complete, patients should wear their aligners for 20 to 22 hours a day. Patients will switch out each new set of aligners every few weeks as their teeth get accustomed to the aligners.

Invisalign Q&A

Learn more about Invisalign and SureSmile with answers to these common questions about orthodontic treatment:

How do you clean clear aligners?

Because clear aligners are removable, you can remove them to clean your teeth and your aligners.  Brush the aligners with clear liquid soap and a soft-bristled brush. Use lukewarm water and avoid hot water, as this can warp your aligners. Remember to clean your aligners at least twice daily. Do not eat or drink anything other than water with your aligners on your teeth. You can damage or stain your aligners.

Why do you need to straighten crooked teeth?

Straightening crooked teeth can improve not only the smile's appearance but also your oral health. It can be difficult to clean between crooked teeth, which means that many patients can be at risk of developing cavities or gum disease.

Are clear aligners painful?

It will take several days for patients to get used to each new set of aligners, and they may feel soreness at first. However, this will fade with time.
