About Your First Visit

Why Our Comprehensive Exam Is Different

Most dental offices focus narrowly on teeth. At Monokian Dentistry, we take a more comprehensive approach.

Our 5-point exam evaluates:

  1. The appearance of your smile
  2. The function of your bite, muscles, and jaw joints
  3. The health of your teeth and gums
  4. The health of your supporting bone and soft tissues
  5. Airway factors that may affect your oral and overall health

This allows us to identify concerns that might otherwise go unnoticed and create a personalized plan based on your unique needs and goals.

Comprehensive Care Can’t Be Rushed

Our New Patient Exam is a little more involved than a conventional dental exam, so please allow up to 90 minutes for your visit. Before your visit, we'll send you a link to complete your new patient forms online, helping make your check-in process as smooth as possible.

What's Included In The 5-Point Exam:

  • Full set of digital x-rays
  • Exterior and intra-oral photos
  • Bite observations/range of motion analysis
  • Dental history review
  • Personal Dental Hygiene Plan
  • A full explanation of our findings, with treatment options

We typically schedule both your comprehensive exam and hygiene appointment when you become a new patient. Depending on your individual needs and scheduling preferences, these appointments may take place on the same day or on separate days.

Please Bring With You:

  • Insurance card (if applicable)
  • Drivers license or other photo ID
  • Completed new patient forms
  • A list of any dental concerns, or symptoms you've been experiencing
